Customs Regulations in Turkey would like to draw your attention to a critical point of documentation in the customs of Turkey.

There will be enormous penalties for the corrections after arrivals of the vessels. All corrections must be sent from origin offices before vessel's arrival and all amended HB/L copies must be sent to Turkey handling agent before vessel's arrival. Besides these penalties, if any correction is received after vessel's arrival, also the correction letter must be issued by the origin office and/or shipper and this letter must be stamped and signed by local Chamber of Commerce and Turkish Consulate. Handwritten corrections on the HBs/L are not accepted by the customs authorities. Container numbers must be mentioned on the HBs/L. Handwriting again is not accepted.
